Re: OffTheDeepEnd (OTDE)
Okay, the track itself was pretty sweet, flowed well, feeled right, and even being a bit short it was perfectly enjoyable.
BUT! There are two things I wanna say, that have more to do with the video than the track (because I'm better at video making than track making, so I feel my comment there would be more foundated).
- The titles and credits, try to be as serious and professional as you can there. If you can only use Windows Movie Maker, I suggest you making title and credit images in GIMP ('cause it's free) and just transitioning them. I have Vegas 8.0 and After Effects CS3, I know how to use them fairly well, and the title images are still my favorite way to make credits and such.
- The song was not the best choice. I like Muse and all, but the song was a bit too calm for the track. I think you can divide watching a track in two parts, both important: The track, and, the experience. The track may be awful and the experience amazing, just as the track can be the best track made in the year and have the experience suck. The titles, soundtrack, editing, they all contribute to the experience. I feel like a faster song or an industrial, or maybe even techno song would fit the track so much better, enhancing the experience astronomically if combined with better titles.
Just something for you to think about.
